If you're looking for a Chinese teacher, you can stop now - Suqing is THE BEST! I am a 2nd language teacher myself (I have been teaching Spanish for 25 years). I also speak 4 languages (learned as an adult).

With all the experience that I have studying and teaching languages for most of my adult life, I am very picky about my own language teachers. So when I say she is the best, that's coming from experience.

First of all, Suqing uses a methodology that actually works. Sadly, a lot of language teachers 'talk about' the language, but don't actually teach it. Suqing's methodology uses comprehensible input and storytelling - this works with the specific way that the human brain learns languages.

This methodology can be more challenging to teach, because the teacher has to tell interesting stories while also keeping the vocabulary really easy. This can be a bit of an art form, and Suqing has got it! She is funny, unexpected and personal in her stories, and she also includes cultural content in a lot of her stories, so you're learning about the culture as you learn the language.

Suqing gives a very personal touch as a teacher, which makes her stories more engaging. Another example of this is the personal attention, care and ongoing communication that she gives. When I messaged on WhatsApp that I was having trouble with the technology and feeling frustrated that I wasn't understanding (this happens to us all in language learning!), she actually called me right then, to walk me through my tech issues so that I could translate the Chinese characters and understand!

I really don't have high enough praise for Suqing as a Chinese teacher. You have the whole world of Chinese teachers at your fingertips through the internet... chose Suqing because she is absolutely the BEST.

We have been seeing Su Qing since 2019 and found her teaching style to be excellent! We started learning Mandarin (with no prior knowledge) only to learn a new language, however Su Qing made it more than that - we have learnt so much about China and Chinese culture! She ensures we are exposed to comprehensible input in stories, videos or just general conversation so we can now confidently speak the language. We even went to Taiwan and was complimented by many locals at our speaking ability. I highly recommend Su Qing if you're interested in learning Mandarin Chinese at ANY level!

Suqing (Rebecca) is truly the best and most helpful Mandarin tutor you will ever find! I went from almost no ability (except for a few phrases I picked up in childhood) to being extremely conversationally fluent and able to communicate with anyone in Mandarin. She always adapts the lesson to your level and ensures it’s both fun and challenging. Her techniques mean you’re able to speak from the first class, and there’s no boring textbooks or grammar lessons — it truly just feels like learning with a friend.

Suqing is a phenomenal Mandarin teacher--super engaged, flexible, participatory, and hilarious! I started lessons with her so I could talk to my partner's parents, and within a few months I was able to make basic conversation, even crack a joke occasionally. Her method of comprehensible language pedagogy really works, and it's a lot more fun than doing exercises in a textbook.

You hear but you cannot understand. Then you comprehend but cannot produce. Then one day while you are intently focused on something, a banal question comes at you from a friend and you unknowingly answer it in a new language. In Chinese. After having spent just a few online lessons. Coming from someone who has in fact had previous classroom experience in language learning and is stubborn when following instructions, comprehensible input is a gem. And I can praise the method all day, but the true star of the show is Suqing. I have both dreaded and brimmed with excitement before every single class, as you will always feel flimsy as though learning a new sport, and Suqing will be there to masterfully balance the difficulty so that you are challenged, yet always motivated. Oh, this sounds like a paid review now, but I do not care. If you are looking for a person who is genuinely interested in you and your growth, and who is in the background working very hard to help your tongue and brain adjust to a new language with least effort – you are in the right hands.

Many people have come to appreciate that comprehensible input is essential to second language acquisition. Learners, however, are often stuck in the mindset of the classroom they remember from childhood: a focus on memorization and an emphasis on performance. Even those of us who were good students can look back with dread. Suqing does an excellent job of breaking those old habits and turning each lesson into a dynamic opportunity for learning.

Suqing is, of course, kind and encouraging; but her teaching capabilities extend beyond these traits. She is very successful in getting students to actively experiment with the Chinese language and overcome the fear and anxiety that is often associated with formal teaching settings. Her CI-based approach successfully weaves repetition with new ideas and information, leading to many of those "n+1" moments that feel like genuine breakthroughs for students.

I can't recommend Suqing more highly for students who are ready to begin practicing output. Her teaching style is ideal to help students work through the practical and mental barriers in Chinese acquisition.

Year after year I struggled to self-learn Chinese and kept getting stuck on Beginner level. This was so frustrating until I found Suqing and I am further along than I've ever been. The small group format has improved my confidence and skill, plus the sessions are just really well done with interesting content and varied format. I would highly recommend this language learning service if you have had little success in apps, TV shows, and boring books.

Teacher Suqing has been my first and only teacher. Prior to becoming her student, I regularly followed her videos on youtube. I sought to learn Chinese through the comprehensible input method, and I stumbled upon her videos, which were not only interesting but also comprised various stories in different contexts and useful real-life examples.

Her voice is soft, her pronunciation is clear, and her speaking pace is ideal neither too fast nor too slow. She incorporates numerous hand gestures while telling stories, making it possible to understand her even without looking at the translations. Her teaching methods are truly effective; within less than a year, I progressed from a beginner with zero knowledge in mandarin to achieving an HSK 2/3 level.

I've been in SuQing's classes for just over 3 years now and it's been such a fun learning experience! The lessons are engaging and fits my need to learn conversational Mandarin while also balancing full time work. Su Qing really does make the classes about the students and tweaks it where it makes sense for everyone.

Before I started learning Chinese, all speech sounded like someone shook up a bag of sounds. I thought it would take me a lifetime to get it. However, I've been taking Suqing's class for 8 months and although I'm not yet fluent, I have the confidence I can get there.
